Trina and Her Bags

Trina spent the better part of her childhood in the trees of the Adirondack Mountains, and her teen years darting across volleyball courts in states along the East Coast. Trina Poland: The creative spirit behind Trinabags.During her college days, she traversed the winding brick pathways of her alma mater, the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she earned her BA with honors in Studio Art.

It was also during that time that Trina happened upon the idea of Trinabags. Over the course of her four years, she participated in multicultural fairs and in home bag parties, setting the foundation for the Trinabags to come.

Now back in the foothills of the Adirondacks, Trina spends her free time exploring all the region has to offer, learning chords on her new guitar, and taking every opportunity of sharing laughter with friends and family.

About Trinabags

Founded in 2004 by owner Trina Poland, Trinabags got its start at a multicultural fair held on the campus of Trina's alma mater, the University of Mary Washington. With only eleven bags to sell, Trina set up shop and in one day, sold out her inventory.

Inspired by the response, Trina began selling handmade bags to friends and family. Through word of mouth, she created a loyal following of Trinabags fans. Now four years later, Trinabags has clients as far reaching as California and Colorado, North Carolina and New York.

Selling both online and in stores, Trinabags is moving forward into a new phase — all the while keeping our eye on the ball with a consistent practice of sharing the wealth.

About the Names

Many people have asked about the story behind our Trinabags style names. Quite simply, the names are inspired by the people who inspire us. Each bag style embodies the spirit of its namesake. Some are named after our nearest and dearest — our sisters, our friends, and others pay tribute to people who possess hearts full of passion and conviction, selflessness, or an undying hope for the betterment of this world.

Thanks

Because all of this would mean nothing if i couldn't share it with you, I thank: my parents, who have yet to let a day go by where I didn't know I was loved; my sisters, for being my very first friends — you inspire me daily; my friends, new and old, near and far, for what you have made me, and for the laughter we have shared; my teachers, (Carole and Robin in particular), for teaching me what hard work and good guidance can accomplish; Trampoline Design, for always being in my corner; Raeanne Wright, for your mad design skills, but more importantly for your friendship and support; the great and powerful I Am, for your son and the countless blessings you have given me, and for hope you keep in my heart; and finally, the customers, because without you, there would be no Trinabags.
